Frequently asked questions

What is an eSIM?+
An eSIM (embedded SIM) is a digital SIM built into your phone. Instead of inserting a physical card you download a plan directly onto your device and connect to a local network at your destination — no SIM swap needed. Most phones made after 2019 support eSIM.
Is my phone eSIM compatible?+
Most modern smartphones support eSIM — iPhone XS and newer, Samsung Galaxy S20+, Google Pixel 3 and newer. On iPhone go to Settings → General → About and look for an EID number. Your phone must also be carrier-unlocked.
How do I install an eSIM?+
After purchasing you'll receive a QR code by email. On iPhone: Settings → Mobile Data → Add eSIM, then scan the code. On Android: Settings → Network → SIM cards → Add eSIM. Install before you travel on Wi-Fi, then activate when you land.
How much data do I need?+
Light users (maps, messaging): 1–2 GB per week. Moderate users (social media, video calls): 3–5 GB per week. Heavy users (streaming, remote work): 10 GB+ per week. When in doubt choose a slightly larger plan.
How do price drop alerts work?+
Click "Alert me if this drops" on any plan card and enter your email. We check prices daily and email you when a plan drops 10% or more from the price you saw. Unsubscribe any time with one click.
How does Ternroam make money?+
Ternroam earns a small affiliate commission when you purchase through our links — at no extra cost to you. The price is identical whether you arrive via Ternroam or go directly to the provider.
